These last days of September are perfect for horseback riding in central Kentucky. Today, high clouds, blue sky, and a light breeze raised everyone’s spirits.
Jasper hadn’t been out of his own field for several days, and was eager to go.
For a while, we rode with neighbors. After they went back, Jasper and I went on. We worked on the “gears” within his gaits, focusing on a slow trot and a slow canter. He behaved beautifully.
Here are the other horses (a neighbor’s), grazing after being turned out in her big field.
One of the three has an interesting brand: Windy Hill. Perfect for both his original and his current location.
The view from his current hilltop was lovely today.
