Although the ground was still saturated from recent heavy rains, the weather couldn’t have been better for today’s Rolex cross-country competition at the Kentucky Horse Park: sunshine, temperatures in the mid-70s, and a light breeze.
Things didn’t go flawlessly, but there were no serious injuries.
In my next life, I want to be brave enough and skilled enough to ride this course. Never mind winning.
At the end of today’s competition, Great Britain’s Mary King held both first and second places.
Note, 5/1/11: Mary King won first in the Rolex, on King’s Temptress; and also second, on Fernhill Urco. Sinead Halpin and Manoir de Carneville placed third.
